Golf Wind Elevation Adjuster
Adjust Your Yardage with Confidence with our Wind & Elevation Distance Adjuster
Golf is all about precision — and conditions like wind and elevation change can throw your distance off by 10, 20, or even 30+ yards. Use our free Wind & Elevation Distance Adjuster to get a quick estimate of how far your shot will actually travel.
This tool helps you make smarter club selections by factoring in two of the biggest on-course variables:
- Headwinds and tailwinds
- Uphill or downhill lies
Estimate your adjusted shot distance based on wind conditions and elevation change.

How Wind and Elevation Affect Golf Shots
Wind Adjustments (approximate):
- For every 1 mph of wind, adjust by ~0.5% of the shot’s distance
- Example: A 10 mph headwind on a 150-yard shot may require an extra 7–8 yards
Elevation Adjustments:
- Add 1 yard for every foot downhill
- Subtract ~1 yard for every 1.5 feet uphill
- A 20-foot drop could play 13+ yards shorter — a club or more!
